American Hustle, Gravity, dan 12 Years A Slave Merajai Nominasi Oscar 2014

Chris Hemsworth dan Presiden Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences telah mengumumkan secara resmi para nominator Oscar 2014, Kamis pagi kemarin. Ini merupakan ajang penghargaan tahunan yang telah diadakan untuk kali ke-86. Ajang penghargaan ini akan diselenggarakan di Dolby Theater Hollywood, tanggal 2 Maret mendatang, dimana Ellen DeGeneres akan memandu acara tersebut.

Gravity dan American Hustle menjadi film yang paling banyak meraih nominasi yaitu masing-masing sebanyak 10 nominasi. Diantaranya Best Picture, Best Director,  and Best Actress. 12 Years A Slave mengikuti dibelakang dengan sembilan nominasi termasuk diantaranya Best Picture, Best Director (Steve McQueen), Best Actor (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Best Supporting Actor (Michael Fassbender) dan Best Supporting Actress (Lupita Nyong'o).

Selain ketiga film paling fenomenal itu, beberapa nominasi lain dari film berbeda ikut meramaikan ajang Academy Awards kali ini. Namun ada pula beberapa nama yang sangat diharapkan untuk masuk dalam nominasi tapi kenyataannya tidak cukup kuat untuk bersaing hingga terlewat dari daftar seperti  film" Saving Mr. Banks," Oprah Winfrey (Best Supporting Actress lewat "The Butler") dan Paul Greengrass (untuk Best Director dengan film "Captain Phillips").
